PARENTS AT THE TABLE
“Parents shouldn’t have to fight to be heard. I will make sure the door is always open.” — Alyssa Noel
PARENTS AT THE TABLE
Parents shouldn’t have to fight to have a voice in their child’s education. As a School Advisory Council Chair, I’ve seen how powerful family involvement can be and how often it gets blocked by systems that weren’t built with families in mind. I’m running to change that dynamic for good.
I didn’t decide to run for school board because I was invited in. I decided to run because, as a parent I believe education is a partnership.
When we treat parents like partners, when we genuinely involve them in decisions, communicate proactively, and create real structures for their voice to be heard our schools get better. The research is clear on this. So is my own experience as both a parent and a School Advisory Council Chair.
What I Will Fight For:
- Parent advisory structures with actual influence over school decisions.
- District communication that is timely, clear, and available in the languages our community speaks
- Expanded volunteer and engagement opportunities so families can contribute in ways that fit their lives
- A board culture of transparency, where parents aren’t surprised by policy changes that affect their children
The village it takes to raise a child includes its parents. I will make sure the District 3 school board acts like it.
